Where They Are Now: Part 1

I thought it would be fun to go through and talk about some of the artist we don’t really here from anymore and remember them. Also, it’s be nice and interesting to see what they currently have going on in their careers. Enjoy.

 1. Remember AQUA! Famous for their hit Barbie Girl.

The Danish dance-pop group consists of memebers Lene Nystrøm, René Dif (Vocals), Søren Rasted (keyboard) and Claus Norreen (Guitar).

Aqua ended up splitting in July of 2001. Nystrøm, Dif and Rasted all had solo careers after the bands break up. Norreen continued in the music industry but did more behind the scenes work.

October of 2007, Aqua reunited and went on tour to celebrate doing so.

The last heard from Aqua was their creation of a third album Megalomania. It was released October 3, 2011. We may hear even more from them in the near future.

 2. NEXT, I can’t count how many times I played their record over and over again.

Most popular hit, ‘Too Close’.

The group consists of R.L. Huggar and brothers Terry Brown and Raphael Brown.

In 2006, Next signed to Matt

hew knowles’  label, Music World Entertainment.

April 2, 2007, R.L. announced while on the Frank Ski & Wanda Morning Show in Atlanta, that their new album would be called Sex Toy. Since then, the title has been renamed  Next, Lies, & Videotape and was released sometime last year.

Rumor has it, R.L. is working on his second solo album. Group member Raphael “Tweet” Brown left the group, having issues with his bandmate R.L. and wanting to become more spiritual, singing gospel.

The band later made up.  Their newest album Next, Lies, & Videotape  was again changed to Music 101.

3. Tiffany Cobb better known as Blu Cantrell is someone I remember from time to time.

In 2007, Cantrell starred in the musical stage play Gossip, Lies and Secrets.

In 2008, she was in NBC’s Celebrity Circus. Cantrell was eliminated in the second week. Making her the first Celebrity eliminated from the show. She came back for the final episode to perform her single “Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!)” Music producer, Colin Main, was, in July 2011, the only producer to reveal he was working with Cantrell.

Several unheard clips can be found on Main’s Official YouTube account. Snippets of “My World” and “Secret in My Pocket” should be found there. It has not been confirmed if these tracks would appear on Cantrell’s upcoming album.

4. “This is the anthem throw all your hands up…”, Good Charlotte!

Band members are Joel Madden (Vocals), Benji Madden (Guitar/Vocals), Paul Thomas (Bass) and Billy Martin (Guitar and Keyboard).

They released their fifth album in November of 2010. The first single from the album, ‘Like its a her birthday’ which I love,  was released April of 2010.

In 2011 Good Charlotte headlined the Kerrang! Relentless tour, toured North America with This Century and Forever the Sickest Kids. They also did a U.S. tour co-headlining with Yellowcard .

I would say that Good Charlotte has been quite successful during their career and they don’t show any signs of slowing down any time soon. I hope they continue to be great and create awesome music.

5. Who could ever forget Vitamin C. Birth name Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick.

Famous for her hit single ‘Graduation’. Literally, it still gets played at every graduation ceremony. If not at the ceremony, sometime during the 12th grade year.

In 2007, Vitamin C formed and produced an all girl group called, The Stunners. They were signed to Columbia Records then later Universal Republic Records. Sadly the girls split up at the beginning of 2011. The lead singer, Tinashe, went solo, member Allie Gonino is now an actress on abc Family’s The Lying Game, and member Hayley Kiyoko now plays “Stella” on Disney’s on-screen group, Lemonade Mouth.

Vitamic C has done quite a bit with Disney herself. She has written or Co-written for many Disney artists. “Let’s Get Crazy” for Miley Cyrus as Hanna Montana. Miley sang the song in-character as Hanna on Hanna Montana The Movie and on the show in it’s third season. Vitamin C also wrote the song “One and the Same”, a duet recorded by Demi Lavato and Selena Gomez for the Disney Channel Playlist album.

Vitamic C is said to be making a comeback. When her debut will be, I am unsure but I will be keep my ears listening and eyes peeled for the day she does.

This is only part one of my where are they now series. Part two will be posted very soon. Until then, I hope you enjoy the first five artists I chose to begin with!
